ATMOsphere (formerly known as shecco), a member of the Clean Cooling Coalition, has presented on 27 June the main findings of the study conducted on the European-based heat pump industry, with specific focus on domestic systems running with natural refrigerants.
The study ‘Accelerating the EU’s Shift Towards Natural Refrigerant Domestic Heat Pumps’ is an effort undertaken by ATMOsphere, with the support of the European Climate Foundation, the European Environmental Bureau, and the Environmental Coalition on Standards.
Among the key findings, the report supports the stance that that there is no need to slow down the phase down of HFCs in the context of the decarbonisation of heating systems across the EU.
This is because multiple companies have already today efficient and climate aligned heat pumps on the market running with natural refrigerants; these companies are ready to scale up production driven by targeted policy measures.
